Our drum melting and dosing systems provide a seamless solution for feeding extruders or batch mixers. They are specifically designed for the precise dosing and feeding of additives into processes for manufacturing plastic granules, adhesives, and plastics.

  • Process Stability: Dosing occurs precisely and dependent on process speed, even with high back pressures in the system.

  • Versatile Pump Options: Depending on material viscosity, highly precise gear pumps or screw spindle pumps can optionally be used; different materials and coatings are available.

  • Energy Efficiency & Simplified Logistics: In contrast to the use of conventional heating cabinets, our systems melt the material directly and energy-efficiently. Thanks to intelligent drum management for tandem or multiple systems, heated buffer tanks are eliminated, which minimizes thermal stress and cleaning effort.

  • Low-Maintenance Hose Systems: Expensive and maintenance-intensive, liquid-heated double-pipe systems are obsolete. We use flexible, heated hoses whose temperatures can be adjusted quickly and precisely. Optional ATEX hoses are available for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Handling Different Viscosity Ranges

We offer specific solutions for the entire viscosity spectrum:

  • Low-Viscosity Substances: Are liquefied and conveyed using drum melters with a seal-free immersion melting plate. This even allows the use of otherwise closed drums (after cutting open the lid) and thus offers maximum flexibility in material procurement. An additional piston pump system can optionally be integrated for complete residual emptying, which minimizes the disposal of expensive residual material.

  • Extremely High-Viscosity Substances (e.g., Hotmelts): Here we employ mechanical spindle drum melters. These offer approximately four times the force of conventional pneumatic melters and ensure reliable conveyance of high-viscous materials.

Intelligent Control & Data Acquisition

Our drum melting systems are future-proof and fully integrable into your production environment:

  • Central & Decentralized Control: Operation is carried out via a central control cabinet and, depending on requirements, via the main machine’s central HMI. Decentralized operating options include safe two-hand buttons or additional local touch panels.

  • Data Processing & Integration:

    • Data transfer to the parent machine (extruder/mixer), also via Profinet to the central control station.
    • Direct control of printers for logging or labeling is possible.
    • Recipe-controlled, automatic temperature inputs via barcode scanning.
    • Efficient remote maintenance is enabled via VPN.

  • No material contamination due to open chutes or funnels.
  • Full cladding enables extraction of hazardous fumes.

  • Comprehensive Monitoring of Process Parameters Possible:

    • Material temperature monitoring.
    • Overtemperature protection despite variable flashpoints using barcode scanners, redundant sensors, and safety PLCs.
    • Integrated pressure sensors, flow measurement cells, and weighing systems.

Options for Material Logistics (Preview)

We offer optional transport roller systems for optimized drum changes. Pneumatic ejection mechanisms assist with the simple removal of (partially) full drums.

A future development also includes a method for fully automatic loading and unloading of the drums.
