SM Klebetechnik’s production is climate-neutral with green energy
Own solar energy for the production centre
“Producing energy in a climate-friendly way and on our own? We can do that!“ thought the SM Klebetechnik team. The result: within five months, the photovoltaic system was planned and installed on the roof of the company building. The 100-kilowatt system provides CNC machining to the SM Klebetechnik production centre and solar energy to the subsidiary SM Coating. Additionally, charging stations for e-mobility, also run from the photovoltaic system, were installed on the company premises. The local power grid benefits from the input of excess energy.
“We seized on the idea of a photovoltaic system immediately as responsible use of resources is important to us,“ explains René Schog, Managing Director of SM Klebetechnik. Thanks to the climate-neutral production of energy, the Heinsberg-based producer of hotmelt and application systems has lowered its energy costs and CO2 emissions. Further environmental protection activities are to follow. Acquisition of e-vehicles for the company fleet is already being planned.
